Digital Matter Barra GPS Features
The Barra GPS tracker is a battery-powered asset or vehicle tracker. It boasts accurate GPS capabilities, making it ideal for tracking assets where precision is paramount.
Accurate GPS Tracking
Unlike the Barra Edge and some other trackers, the Barra GPS is equipped with a dedicated GPS module that provides significantly better and more accurate location tracking. This makes it an excellent tracker for scenarios where precise positioning is key, particularly for monitoring outdoor assets like construction or farming equipment where a strong and reliable GPS signal is consistently available.
Efficient Battery Performance
Using the recommended 2 x AA lithium batteries (not included) and setting up the tracking device configuration correctly, you can achieve award-winning battery performance. For example:
- Once daily location updates = 8 years battery life
- Hourly location updates = 2 years battery life
The Barra GPS includes a battery monitoring feature, to notify you of low battery and critical alerts.
Periodic Tracking
This tracking device can be configured to save you money and battery life. By setting up a periodic plan, you can significantly reduce your tracking costs and extend the device’s battery life. The tracker will only connect a specific number of times to update its status and location.
Recovery Mode
By setting the Barra GPS into recovery mode, the device will provide real-time tracking at the next update. This mode is designed to increase theft recovery and is essential for trackers infrequently updated. This can be done from the Tracklogix portal or by contacting support.
Impact Protection & Waterproof
The Barra GPS tracker can withstand all types of environments. With its IP68 and IK07 ratings, this device can withstand impact, fine dust and brief complete submersion. It also has an operating temperature of -30°C to +60°C.
Removal Detection
The tracking device has a magnetic switch which enables quick activation and tamper detection. An alert can be configured to notify when a device is removed from a metal object such as heavy machinery.
