The Barra Core tracker is a feature rich battery powered asset or vehicle tracker made for indoor/outdoor use. This device does not have a GPS module. It is built for use indoors or in metropolitan outdoor areas.
Indoor & Outdoor Tracking
The issue with many GPS trackers are when they lose GPS signal indoors, whether its entering multiple warehouses, metropolitan areas, etc. So this device is purpose built for this! This device removes the GPS module to save on battery life and costs of the hardware. The technology uses Cell-tower scanning, and Wifi positioning technology to lookup its location. Our system handles the lookups for you ($1.10 per 1,000 lookups – thats over 3 years worth for a device that updates daily) and talks to google, and other location providers to get an appoximate location. Award Winning Battery Performance
Using the 2x AA (not included) and setting up the device configuration correctly can gain you a huge amount of battery life. This means it can be used as a deploy-once solution. E.g. Once Daily location updates = 10 yrs, Hourly location updates = 3 yrs. Includes battery monitoring for low and critical alerts for your deployment.
Periodic or Movement Based Tracking
This device can be configured to save you money and battery life. By configuring a periodic plan (see our plans page) you can save a bunch of money on your tracking bill, and also increase your devices battery life. The device will only connect a specific amount of times to update its status and location.
Theft Recovery
By setting the device into recovery mode, at the next update the device will provide real-time tracking. This is designed for a theft recovery for devices that usually only update a small amount. This can be done from the TLX portal or by contacting support.
Rugged & Waterproof
This device can withstand the harshest of environments. With its IP68 and IK07 ratings, this device can withstand impact, fine dust, and even complete submersion for a time. It can also boasts an operating temperature of -30°C to +60°C
Magnetic Switch
This device features a magnetic switch which enables quick activation and tamper detection. An alert can be configured to notify when a device is removed from a metal object such as heavy machinery.
